Hi there, i registered however the Big Pines campground says it's not open until 5/15.  Do we want to pick another site?  Looking for one w/trailer access.  

What Peter said is correct. It's free camping until May! You gotta love that.

For the Yakima outing I want to try to introduce interested members to the art of hosting an NFA outing. The process is simple it just looks like it isn't.

My plan is to get together (at a central location with adult beverages) for a couple of hours with those interested to do the menu planning and talk about the club equipment. We will figure out the shopping list and timing (dry goods, things to prep and freeze/pack, fresh goods, ice, etc.).

We will than coordinate meet at the NFA locker (in Shoreline) to pick up the club equipment and finalize our packing. Most likely this will be 12th of April.

Any additional questions will be answered at the outing. It really is a simple process. The most difficult part in knowing what to bring and Dana has figured that out for all of us.

As always, I'll be there and ready to help out with the dishes.  I'll be listening for any tips and tricks.  Let me know when you want to do the planning get together, if at all possible later in the week, I work through Wednesday till late in the evening.  I don't think my day outing May will take much of the knowledge you're willing to share but you know the motto, "Be Prepared"

It seems to be closed every year when we go, yet, when we're there it sure seems open.  One year, half the campground was closed.  =)
