Dave McCoy, owner of Emerald Waters Anglers in West Seattle will give instructions to up to twelve members on Saturday, August 7th. Dave is an expert guide and spey instructor, and the club is fortunate to have secured his services for this day’s outing. It is expected this will be on the Snoqualmie River.
The plan is for two sessions in the morning and two in the afternoon. The maximum per session is three casters; this at Dave's request so he can give each caster some concentrated instruction. Therefore, the maximum number of casters is 12 (4 sessions x 3 casters). Each session is 1 1/2 hours: 9 am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm, assuming we have 12 sign up. The registration form will allow you to specify what type(s) of instruction you would like so you can be put into a group with similar interests.
- Single Spey
- Double Spey
- Snake Roll
- Snap T
- Circle C
After registration closes on Aug. 1, you will be notified the exact location and what time your class starts.
Beginners will not be required to bring a spey rod. In the event that more than 12 people sign up, priority will be given to beginners. After that it will be first come fist serve. The last day to sign up or cancel is July 31st. The cost is $50.This is a great opportunity to work on your spey casting skills with a top instructor for what we consider a modest per member cost.
