Hi all,
This is the only way I could figure to get the word out about an advisory that has been issued about the Clark's Fork and contamination of this watershed.
"The Clark Fork River in Montana has a fish consumption advisory in place due to high levels of toxins found in the fish. The
Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT) advise against eating fish from specific sections of the river, including the lower Clark Fork from the Bitterroot River confluence to the Flathead River confluence. Testing revealed the presence of
Polychlorinated biphenyls
(PCBs), dioxins, and furans in fish at levels considered unsafe for consumption, particularly for Native populations who consume fish at higher rates.
Here is a story about the advisory: https://www.montanarightnow.com/missoula/fish-consumption-advisory-in-place-for-clark-fork-bitterroot-and-blackfoot-rivers/article_6f4c1078-1b9e-4cf2-a51d-28a7898fbf68.html
This does effect the part of the river where this outing is located. This breaks my heart, but unfortunately might be the future of so many of our beloved western rivers.
