We are going to find fish at Eglon on the minus tide. Low tide will be about 10:45 am. Take the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry. I usually take the 7:10 ferry that will get me to Eglon about 8:00. Drive off the ferry and follow SR 104, then turn right on Hansville Road. Head north for a few miles then turn right on Eglon Road, continue on Eglon Road as it makes a sharp right turn, then follow to Eglon Park. Wade the flats south of the park or launch a pontoon if you like. Eric and I have done both.
Gear: 6-8 weight rods, floating and short sink tip lines, 8-10 pound tippet. Saltwater license.
Flies: Small baitfish in your favorite colors–pink over white, olive over white, Miyawaki Beach Poppers, anything that looks like a sandlance, White Lightning.
Waders, flies in plastic boxes, sun hat, polarized sunglasses, stripping basket if you like them.
