Saltwater - Day Outing
Camp Host: Jake Watrous
Date: September 26, 2020 Meeting time is 9:30 a.m.
Registration Fee: No charge (day outing)
As noted in the write up for NFA's May Camano Island outing, fishing the saltwater from the beach is one of the fastest growing facets of fly fishing. We will mainly be fishing for Coho Salmon and Searun Cutthroat, but other species are possible. The timing and southern location of this event is perfect for good results. High tide is 3:20 p.m., so we will be fishing a large incoming tide, which tends to bring fish in closer for fresh foraging. Should be good!
Face mask is a requirement while in the parking lot and socializing or anytime you are near others.
What to Bring:
- Washington state saltwater fishing license and catch card
- 6, 7, or 8 weight saltwater setup is ideal throwing minnow or streamer type flies.
